South Jersey Football Games of the... South Jersey Football Games of the Week Part II

Camden (2-1) at Cherry Hill West (4-0), Friday, 7 p.m.
Camden, which lost its opening game 22-15 in OT to Camden Catholic, is coming off Friday's 31-12 upset win over defending South Jersey Group 2 champion Cedar Creek. Junior Najyere Edwards rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns. For the season he has rushed for 318 yards (6.2 avg.) and 2 TDs. Quarterback Drew Harris has thrown for 447 yards and 7 TDs. Cherry Hill West is coming off a hard-fought 27-19 win over Trenton as Sameer Parks had three receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns in his first game of the season. Senior Harrison Hand, one of South Jersey's top two-way players, has eight receptions for 186 yards and three TDs and has two interceptions.

Cherokee (1-2) at Hammonton, (3-1), Friday, 7 p.m.
Cherokee is among the top 1-2 teams in the state. The losses were to Shawnee and Timber Creek, by a total of 10 points. The Chiefs had a bye last week after they defeated Kingsway, 41-7. Senior Rutgers commit John Lovett has rushed for 353 yards (8.0 avg.) and four touchdowns. Hammonton has continued to perform well despite losing QB-DB Malachai Winters to a season-ending shoulder injury in the opening game. The Blue Devils are coming off a 30-28 triple OT win over Bridgeton.

Clayton (3-0) at Pennsville (3-1), Friday, 7 p.m.
This is a rematch of last year's South Jersey Group 1 final that Pennsville won, 28-6. Pennsville looks to bounce back from last week's 14-6 loss to St. Joe in a game in which the winners scored their two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Pennsville's defense will keep the Eagles in a the game with anybody. The leader is senior Rob Saulin, a Connecticut commit, who has 22 tackles. Clayton QB Damir Washington has completed 21 of 42 passes for 394 yards and 6 TDs. The Clippers have outscored teams 96-22. They had a bye last week after a 35-19 win over Gloucester Catholic.

Moorestown (2-2) at Woodrow Wilson (2-1), Saturday, Noon
This is a West Jersey Football league Royal Division matchup. Moorestown, which was 3-7 last year, defeated Northern Burlington, 27-7 last week. The Quakers are competing this year in Central Jersey Group 4. Wilson, which lost a 13-7 opening week Royal Division game to Highland, has beaten Northern Burlington and Bishop Eustace in its last two games. The Tigers have a number of big-play performers, including junior Hydir Moore, who has rushed for 191 yards and 2 TDs, while averaging 14.7 yards per carry.
