Spiced falafel come nestled in a soft oversized pita stuffed with chilies, imported and pickled vegetables, hummus and a pleasant tahini sauce ($6.95)—a smorgasbord of unique ingredients. Ask for extra spice if you can take it. Shawarma, a Middle Eastern cousin to the Greek gyro, is juicy and skillfully prepared ($7.50 in a pita, $12.95 as a platter), as are the kebabs ($7.99). Finish off a meal with walnut or pistachio baklava ($2) and a cup of Turkish coffee ($1.95). Call ahead for quick take-out or to have your order ready when you arrive.

A crab wrap, served with pan-seared lump crab and lettuce inside a tortilla infused with Old Bay seasoning ($7.99), fits all the requirements for a great sandwich—fresh, fast and just a little bit different. Lunch specials rotate weekly and include a soup and sandwich deal for less than $5. Grabbing a bite with friends? Sharing is caring with an order of salty tortilla chips and a crock of warmed spinach dip ($5.95) or Clancy’s popular calamari fritto appetizer ($6.55).

You’ll feel like royalty as you dig in to the Queen’s Packets Salad, a mountain of mixed greens, ripe Jersey tomatoes, grilled eggplant, goat cheese, basil and olives ($8.95; shown with chicken, $3.95 extra). While the prices are steep, the portions are huge. Another must-try on the menu of wraps, salads and fresh juice smoothies is the split pea soup ($3.95). Keep in mind that one of the unique things about Healthy Garden is its split kitchens: One offers healthy fare, and the other creates nicely done pizzas, cheesesteaks, pastas and calzones—a real plus for the varied palates of any lunch group.
