Charlotte Rose Mandy
Medford
An eighth grader at Medford Memorial Middle School, Mandy (pictured) wrote and self-published a 660 page novel that is now available on Amazon. Readers of Thunderland: The Quest to Uthnir will be able to dive into its magical world with its main character, Amy Wupero. The fictional novel is the first in The Thunderland Chronicles, a three-part series. While balancing school and extracurricular activities, she is currently working on the second novel in the series.

Jimmy Kennedy, Christopher Nishi, Jarrod Skole and Brielle Stoner
Mount Laurel
Lenape High School students Kennedy, Nishi, Skole and Stoner led two workshops at the Burlington County Volunteer Center's Youth Service Conference and Expo. In their sessions, the students taught leadership skills and problems faced by student-leaders to other high school students from around the county. Kennedy, Nishi, Skole, and Stoner were the only students chosen in the county to organize two different workshops.

Gavin Gershon
Voorhees
Kellman Brown Academy third-grader Gavin Gershon placed second in the third-grade category of Mathnasium’s TriMathalon’s national tie-breaker competition. Gershon placed first in the third-grade category in the original Mathnasium TriMathalon, which qualified him to compete in the tie-breaker against other first-place winners from around the country. He received several prizes, including a trophy, a six-month membership to Mathnasium and money donated to his school.

Haddonfield Memorial Sophmore Class
Haddonfield Memorial High School’s sophomore class raised and donated $4,221.64 for Go4theGoal, a non-profit organization that helps children affected by cancer reach their goals. The sophomore class held several fundraisers to raise money during the school’s spirit week, and chose to support the foundation because of the help it gave to sophomore and pediatric cancer survivor, Jason Garstkiewicz, when he was first diagnosed.
