Cinnaminson High School

Cinnaminson High School is a four-year, comprehensive, public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades from Cinnaminson Township in Burlington County. Cinnaminson’s schools aim to develop students into self-motivated, multi-faceted people ready to face the world that lies ahead after graduation. According to their website, the school will help students gain an appreciation of knowledge, a desire to learn, and a respect for themselves and others.

Phase II of the capital project going on at CHS include a renovation and other work which is expected to start in mid-summer. Students recently helped to break ground on the project, including Sophomore Class President Anne O’Malley, Junior Class President Anna Saginario, Senior Class President Sydney Zarrilli, Freshman Class President Larry Michalski, 8th Grade Class President Tim Clements and Student Council President Dom Gigliotti.

Congratulations to Class of 2015 Valedictorian Erin Yizzi and Salutatorian James Cody. Erin is a member of the National Honor Society, Class Cabinet, Physics Olympics, Friends of Rachel Club and Interact. She plans to attend the University of Delaware Honors Program and study Chemical Engineering.

James is a member of NHS, Class Cabinet, Math League, Physics Olympics, Friends of Rachel Club and Interact, as well as an athlete. He plans to attend the Physician’s Assistant program at Duquesne University, according to the Cinnaminson Education Newsletter.

CHS’s Advanced Production class performed Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and even got Taylor’s approval via Twitter: https://twitter.com/taylorswift13/status/608389475136380930?lang=en.

The Cinnaminson High School Pirates compete in the Liberty Division of the Burlington County Scholastic League. The league consists of public and parochial high schools covering Burlington County, Mercer County and Ocean County in central New Jersey. Cinnaminson’s teams include cross country, cheerleading, field hockey, football, soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, bowling, swimming, winter track, wrestling, baseball, golf, lacrosse, softball, and track and field.

Athletes this past spring season included Mike Graff, Christian Massara, Wil Robinson, Wyatt Holl, Brandon Staub, Travis Pewor, Nick Thevanyagam, Jimmy Cicale, Jimmy Dever, Mike McAndrews, Nick Holl, Jake Perkins, Adam Berenato, Matt Overman, Anthony Lavala, Jimmy Sullivan, Tim Profy, Mike Bednarek, Dominic Cicale, Eddie Gore, Nick Mahoney, Mike Hess, Ryan Hanratty, Joe Cody, Alexis Semola, Ashley Crow, Ashley Klein, Brenna MacNair, Brooke Figiel, Chelsea Price, Delani Pecchioli, Gia Trzaska, Jessica Ferris, Josie Strang, Kelly Sigmund, Kyla Screnci, Morgan Hawk, Olivia Pestridge, Rebecca Martino, Rebecca Proctor, Sara Beth Coyle, Shannon Profy, Tori Robinson, Peter Selnek, Ryan Fisher, Alec Hamilton, Cody Heppard, Pat McCarthy, Adam Long and Conor Bresnahan, among other athletes.

The Cinnaminson High School Marching Band competes and performs at many events throughout each of their seasons. The members of the marching band perform pep songs and a half-time show at football games. In addition to this, the band has a long season of competitions within two Marching Band circuits: USSBA and Cavalcade of Bands.

Cinnaminson High School’s monthly student newspaper, The Ship’s Log, features articles written by students about sports, clubs and activities, teachers/staff and current events. A popular section of the paper includes a poll of students. Writers and photographers on the 2014-2015 staff include Megan Morris, Michael Zelinka, Lexy Porrini, Ryan Addelsberger, Callie Gallagher and others.
