South Jersey Football Game of the Week: Willingboro vs. Penns Grove

What: Group 1 regional championship game. While there is no state championship for the public schools, the winner of the South and Central titles play in a regional championship games.
 
When: Sunday, 7 pm, at Rutgers
 
Background: This is a rematch of last year’s regional championship, when Penns Grove twice overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat the Chimeras, 35-26 at MetLife Stadium. Penns Grove has the longest current winning streak in South Jersey, 25 games. Willingboro has won 11 in a row since an opening 24-20 loss to South Jersey Group 2 champ Cedar Creek.

Outlook: This has a chance to be a high scoring game, just like last year. Willingboro junior Au-Shaun Davis has completed 108 of 192 passes for 2,269 yards and 33 touchdowns. Senior Zaire Clements has rushed for 959 yards (6.2 avg.) and 9 TDs. Junior Demie Sumo has rushed for 591 yards (9.9 avg.) and 10 TDs. The most explosive player is senior receiver Chris Long, a Temple commit. He has caught 60 passes for 1,407 yards and 17 TDs. Senior Lamar Johnson has 66 tackles, with 16 tackles for loss, including five sacks.
 
Penns Grove senior Kavon Lewis has completed 64 of 108 passes for 1,089 yards and 14 TDs. Junior Nasir Robinson has rushed for 1,540 yards (7.6 avg.) and 28 TDs. Senior Jamar Johnson has rushed for 608 yards (8.5 avg.) and 7 TDs. Junior Jayon Carter has rushed for 584 yards (7.2 avg.) and 7 TDs. Senior Torvon Ransome has 36 receptions for 612 yards and 11 TDs. Sophomore linebacker Zion Cheeks has 75 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.
