Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose COVID vaccine is 66% effective in trials. The drugmaker, based in New Brunswick, has applied for emergency federal approval and expects to ship 100 million units of its vaccine across the U.S. by the middle of 2021.
 
Cooper University Health Care has received re-accreditation by the Accredited Urgent Care designation from the Urgent Care Association of America. It is the highest level of distinction for urgent care centers in the nation.
 
CVS is offering COVID vaccines at 27 locations across New Jersey. The pharmacy started booking appointments earlier this month.
 
Under a new law, hospitals and other health care providers will be required to report the number of COVID-positive patients and deaths on a bimonthly basis to the New Jersey Department of Health.
 
Cooper University Health Care has received the Blue Distinction® Centers+ for Bariatric Surgery designation for quality and cost efficiency, as part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association’s Blue Distinction Specialty Care program. Blue Distinction Centers are nationally designated health care facilities that show a commitment to delivering high-quality patient safety and better health outcomes, based on objective measures that were developed with input from the medical community and leading accreditation and quality organizations.
 
Virtua Health is collaborating with Philadelphia’s B101.1 radio station to help stay connected with the community. B101.1’s studio has been transformed into the Virtua Health Studio, which will highlight health and wellness information and broadcast interactive events and expert health tips.

Advanced Recovery Systems and Cooper University Health Care have opened The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper, a 90-bed inpatient drug and alcohol treatment center in Cherry Hill that offers treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
