Work Related Injuries At A Glance
New Jersey Statute § 34:15 - Labor and Workman’s Compensation
The worker's compensation law covers work-related injuries. This is a system of laws that compensate a worker injured on the job by ensuring that proper medical care and treatment is available, regardless of who is at fault for the injury.
Worker's Compensation provides three types of benefits:
- Medical Benefits to pay for medical care and treatment
- Temporary Benefits to compensate for wages lost during the time out of work
- Permanent Injury Benefits to pay a certain amount of money for permanent physical problems from a work-related injury.
In New Jersey, it is illegal for an employer to fire someone for filing a worker’s compensation claim.
