New Jersey Increases Alert Status You can expect to see more security in New Jersey's roads, bridges and trains because of the terror alert. Today, Governor McGreevey announced increased security along public transportation routes, as well as roads, bridges and tunnels.

All vehicles using bridges and tunnels into New York City are subject to searches. The state police and national guard are also increasing their presence on New Jersey Transit lines.
