Cars Going Up in Big Blaze The second fire at a junkyard in the NBC 10 viewing area in the past day has closed a roadway as crews battle a roaring blaze.

Route 50 is currently closed in both directions between the Black Horse Pike and White Horse Pike in Mays Landing, N.J. due to the fire.

Police said Route 50 will remain closed until at least 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Hamilton Township officials said that the fire was still burning, as of 4:30 p.m.

Officials said most of the fire departments in Atlantic County were heading to the scene.

The fire is at Joe's Junkyard, which contains hundreds of old cars.

There were no reports of injuries at the scene.

The fire comes after firefighters battled an unrelated, massive junkyard fire in Southwest Philadelphia Monday night.

As many as 100 cars at Giana's Junkyard on Essington Avenue caught fire, authorities said.

Authorities said they had the fire contained and two firefighters were taken to a local hospital for heat exhaustion.
