Two Killed in Nightclub Shootings

Two Killed in Nightclub Shootings Two men were killed and three people wounded early Friday when gunshots were fired in a crowded dance club, authorities said.

One man who allegedly had a handgun was arrested soon afterward, but authorities said it was not immediately clear whether he was involved.

The shootings took place about 2 a.m. inside the Tierra Dominicana nightclub, and sent people rushing out its door, authorities said.

One man was found dead inside the club and another later died at Cooper University Hospital. Three other people -- a man and two women -- were taken to the same hospital. Their injuries were not life threatening, police and prosecutors said.

Police later found another man who had been shot and were investigating whether he, too, was in the nightclub. He is expected to survive.

The names of the victims were not released because their families still needed to be notified. Police and prosecutors planned to hold an afternoon news conference on the shootings.
