Murder in Lumberton

Police are searching for Wiley Smith. While investigators won't reveal exactly what evidence led them to charge Smith with his mother's murder, they say he's to be considered dangerous.
As night fell Saturday on the Evergreen condominiums in Lumberton, New Jersey, the manhunt continued for an accused murderer, 20-year-old Wiley Smith, who is wanted for killing his mother, 46-year-old Kathleen Robinson, in unit 311 where they both lived. Residents say they can't believe such a gruesome act allegedly took place in their neighborhood.
One neighbor said, "He seemed very quiet. I never saw him speak to anybody around here. I always saw him sitting on his porch or playing outside with a little boy about two years old. He was always outside playing with him with the basketball and stuff."
Robinson's family first alerted police Friday when she didn't show up to baby-sit. Police entered the home and found her body on the floor of her bedroom. An autopsy revealed she died from asphyxiation. Wiley Smith was nowhere to be found.
"If he's hearing me now, we'd ask him to surrender himself to the Lumberton P.D. Immediately. He's not doing to stay out on the loose very long. He's only hurting himself by staying out there should he give himself up," said police.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Wiley Smith, you're asked to call 911.
