Carjacking, Attempted Sexual Assault
Police say it all started when the man allegedly carjacked a vehicle in Atlantic City Wednesday night.
The scene shifted to Deptford, where the suspect allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman outside a Babies-R-Us store. But the suspect took off when some customers came to her aid.
While fleeing the scene of the attempted sexual assault in the stolen vehicle, the suspect reportedly struck a woman with a baby, clipped two cars, and then plowed into a minivan.
At that point, police say he bailed out of the car, which continued across a parking lot without a driver. Meanwhile, the suspect ran to a K-Mart store, where he was eventually captured.
The victim of the attempted assault and the woman and her baby were all taken to area hospitals. Police say none of them are seriously injured.
