Diver Killed in Parachute Accident

It happened Thursday across the street from the Cross Keys Airport in Monroe Township. The plane carrying the diver had taken off from the airport for a skydiving and parachute company called "Free Fall Adventure."
For some reason, the skydiver's parachute did not open and got tangled in a tree. The man hit a portable basketball backboard, bending it, and fell to the ground.
According to officials, the skydiver had 10 years of experience and had been practicing for an upcoming tournament.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating why the man's parachute failed.
