Surf Dangerous at Jersey Shore

by NBC10/AP | Sep 6, 2004
Surf Dangerous at Jersey Shore Beachgoers at the Jersey Shore are proceeding with caution this Labor Day weekend.

Rip currents and choppy surf have led officials to ban swimming at some southern beaches and put restrictions in place at others.

A small craft advisory was in effect for much of the shore.

The restrictions are expected to be in place through Monday and perhaps even longer.

Part of the disturbance is being blamed on Hurricane Frances. But more of it is due to a high pressure system moving into the area from Canada.
