The teenage victim is a student at Camden's Leap Academy Charter School.
The honor student told police she was walking on Market Street when a man with a knife forced her into an alley and raped her.
"Everyone is shocked and devastated that this happened to one of our fine students," said school superintendent Stephanie Branch.
School officials plan to hold a meeting Wednesday night to talk to parents about what happened and how to prevent it from happening again.
