Sleepy's To Pay NJ Customers

Officials claimed Sleepy's sold defective merchandise and failed to deliver when promised. It'll pay $90,000 in restitution to 120 customers and $600,000 to the state Consumer Affairs Division to cover legal fees, investigative costs and future efforts.
The company made no admission of wrongdoing.
But it agreed to comply with consumer protection laws, change its advertising and business practices, and follow specific procedures to resolve consumer complaints. The state had sued Sleepy's in February.
Sleepy's says it's pleased with the settlement, noting that it's received few complaints from New Jersey customers who have bought thousands of its mattresses over the last decade.
