Here, we present 98 names in 31 categories that you can reach out to when you find yourself in need of a legal shoulder to lean on.
Lloyd Birnbaum
Business Law
Lauletta Birnbaum
During off Hours: What are off hours?
Greatest achievement: Establishing a 16 lawyer boutique business law firm focused on transactional corporate work and business litigation with my partner Frank Lauletta
Free advice: The world of business moves at incredible speed with the advancement of technology. It’s important to your success that you stay one step ahead of your clients to anticipate their needs.
John Eastlack
Land Use Law
Weir & Partners
Charitable work: I have been involved with youth and high school wrestling organizations for 20 years from coaching to fundraising for the most demanding sport for any athlete to compete in. I am a proud member of the Wenonah Riders bike team that has participated for many years in the MS 150 City to Shore Bike ride which raises funds to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Greatest achievement: Partnering with my wife to raise two fine sons
Free advice: Always prepare for a case like it is going to trial. If you prepare for a case like it is going to settle, you won’t get the best result for your client if it does resolve, or won’t be prepared well enough for trial if it doesn’t.
Harris Neal Feldman
Labor and Employment
Parker McCay
During off hours: I enjoy family and community activities; travel; home repair and maintenance; the Jersey Shore; watching/suffering through the Phillies; and falling into new experiences.
Greatest achievement: My family
Memorable case: I will never forget my first trial when I was in my mid-20s defending a Fortune 500 company. Opposing counsel had 20-plus years of experience on me, but I was better prepared with the facts and law and my sole company witness, who I qualified as an expert. Winning that defense verdict will stay with me forever.
Julie LaVan
Business Law
LaVan Law
During off hours: I snowboard—25 years snowboarding. I engage my kids with snowboarding and skiing as well.
Greatest achievement: My greatest and most fulfilling achievement was graduating from law school. Growing up in a small town in upstate New York, I never imagined my dream of becoming a lawyer would come true.
Free advice: Stay strong. Fight smart.
Melanie Levan
Real Estate and Land Use
McDowell Posternock Apell & Detrick, P.C.
Charitable work: Since 2012, I’ve been lucky enough to work with a great group of volunteers as a founder and board member of MooreKids Inc., a nonprofit and 501(c)(3) that I co-founded with three other women. Our mission is to make everyday necessities, educational activities and enrichment opportunities accessible to Moorestown’s underserved youth.
During off hours: I teach yoga at Yoga Path Studio in Moorestown.
Greatest achievement: Being invited to be a shareholder in my law firm
Scott H. Marcus
Collection Services—Commercial
Scott H. Marcus & Associates
During off hours: I enjoy reading, golf and time at the beach.
Greatest achievement: Begin¬¬ning at the age of 27 I have built a law practice that I am proud of.
Free Advice: Having litigated cases over 38 years, my best advice is to take the emotions out of the dispute.
Frances McElhill
Charity/Nonprofit Law
Archer Greiner
Charitable work: Apart from serving on nonprofit boards and teaching many start-up nonprofits, I enjoy most the things I do in my neighborhood and community with my children such as helping older neighbors clear snow from their car, working at a homeless feeding program, or stuffing envelopes for a parish event.
During off hours: I am raising two beautiful, smart and kind teenage daughters.
Free advice: Starting a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit is not “brain surgery” but running one successfully is.
Jill Ojserkis
Health Care Law
Cooper Levenson
During off hours: It’s difficult to have off hours with a busy practice and an iPhone. However, I spend time on the beach whenever I can—which is the best part of living and working in the Atlantic City area—and I like to read and travel.
Greatest achievement: Mentoring several lawyers who have since contributed greatly to the profession and the community—and became my clients
Free advice: It’s not enough to work hard and know the law; you must always strive to be a wise advisor to your clients, be practical and take the time to develop personal connections in a professional manner.
Jeffrey A. Segal
Transportation Law
Weber Gallagher
Memorable case: My most recent trial was one where the plaintiff wanted a $1 million settlement. We offered $250,000, and after a one week jury trial, the plaintiff got only $25,000.
During off hours: When I’m not working my time is devoted to my wife and children. I’ll take trips to Indiana University to see my son or go to my daughter’s lacrosse games with my wife. I am also a sports fan and like renting a Saturday night movie with my wife.
Free advice: It isn’t the most original advice, but it is true that hard work almost always pays off. That being said, I like coming to work, getting involved with my cases and helping my clients. It’s not difficult to work hard if you are doing something you want to do.
Catherine M. Ward
Regulatory and Governmental Affairs
Stradley Ronan
Charitable work: Pro bono attorney for Camden Area Health Education Centers Inc., which provides AIDS and other health counseling services in Camden; founder and recent past chair of Sustainable Moorestown; and member of the Moorestown Environmental Advisory Committee.

Greatest achievement: Attending law school at night while working full time and having our first child, who walked with me at graduation.
