Cooper University Health Care recently recognized Jennifer Orr, RN, with the DAISY Award for providing exceptional nursing care. Orr is a nurse in Cooper’s Intensive Care Unit and was nominated by Mary Jane Durkin, MSN, RN, OCN, an oncology clinical educator at Cooper, following a hospitalization.
 
Michael Charlton, chairman of AtlantiCare’s board of trustees, has been elected to the American Hospital Association’s board.
 
Virtua’s Sean McMilan, DO, FAOFO, is part of the Arthroscopy Association of North America’s first class of Distinguished Arthroscopy Leaders (DAL). McMilan is one of 21 surgeons identified as part of the DAL.
 
John C. Gillespie, a Parker McCay shareholder, executive committee member and chair of the municipal and government practice group, has been named Professional Lawyer of the Year by the Burlington County Bar Association and Common on Professionalism in the Law. The Professional Lawyer of the Year is awarded to an attorney who is well-recognized for outstanding character and competence, respected by all and looked upon as a model of professional behavior.
 
American Heritage Credit Union opened its newest branch in South Jersey, located at 100 Haddonfield Road in Cherry  Hill.
 
Inspira Health’s chief development officer, Jessica Kowal, has been named to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy 2019 40 Under 40 List.
 
Rutgers University-Camden has been awarded a $3 million grant from the United States Agency for International Development in support of its efforts to launch a Higher Education Center for Ethics, Equity and Transparency in Paraguay.
 
Capehart Scatchard employees recently collected school supplies to benefit Operation Fill-A-Backpack, sponsored by Oaks Integrated Care.
 
Additionally, the firm held a Jeans Day fundraiser to support the cause, where employees donated $2 to wear jeans to work for the day. Over $250 was raised and will be sent, along with the school supplies collected, to Oaks Integrated Care.

Parker McCay associate Kathryn A. Rivera has been named the 2019 recipient of the Robert W. Criscuolo Award by the Burlington County Bar Association (BCBA). Recipients of this award are young lawyers who have demonstrated significant involvement and contributions to the BCBA, community service and other civic activities.
