U.F.O. in New Jersey? An unidentified flying object in Carteret? Several witnesses say they saw a flickering golden light in the sky over Arthur Kill last night.

Carteret police dispatchers say they heard from at least 15 callers reporting orange flares in the sky.

Steven Vannoy says he pulled over on the New Jersey Turnpike to observe what he calls a U-F-O.

Police could not identify the source of light. Newark Airport officials say there was no unusual flight patterns.

A meteorologist with the National Weather Service says there was nothing in the weather that could have caused the unexplained spectacle.
