Thunder Mistakes Costly In 3rd Straight Loss

(New Haven, CT)- Troy Farnsworth had a home run and three RBI to lead New Haven to a 9-2 win over the Thunder on Saturday night.
New Haven (36-69) broke a 2-2 tie in the 6th Inning on a two-run double by Farnsworth. The inning was started on by a two-base error from Aaron Capista. In the 7th Inning, the Ravens scored 5 runs on 1 hit to take a 9-2 lead. The inning included three walks, an error and two hit batsmen.
Jorge DeLaRosa (1-3) allowed two runs in 1/3 inning to take the loss.
Scott Prather (1-3) pitched the 6th and 7th Innings scoreless to get the win. Both starters, Derrin Ebert and Nick Stocks, allowed two runs in five innings and got no-decisions.
The Thunder (54-50), who have lost three straight games, got two hits from Freddy Sanchez. Tonanye Brown went hitless for the second straight game, the first time that has happened since May 30th and June 2nd against Norwich and Reading, respectively.
The series wraps up on Sunday at 1:05 PM. Greg Montalbano (1-1) goes for the Thunder against New Haven`s B.R. Cook (4-5).
