(Portland, ME)- Kevin Hooper`s two-run homer in the 8th Inning led the Sea Dogs to a 3-1 win over the Thunder Sunday afternoon.

Hooper`s homer was his first of the season and came off Trenton reliever Jesus Pena (0-1). The homer scored Brett Roneberg, who had singled earlier in the inning.

Blaine Neal (2-1) got the win by getting the final out of the 8th Inning and retiring the Thunder in the ninth. Portland starter Kevin Olsen allowed one run in 7 2/3 innings and got a no-decision.

The Thunder (56-56) got their only run in the 7th Inning on a solo homer by Jerry Salzano, his 7th of the year. Starter Mike Kusiewicz allowed one run in seven innings, but also got a no-decision.

Portland (59-53) took a 1-0 lead in the 4th Inning on a sacrifice fly by Heath Honeycutt.

Trenton returns home to face New Haven on MOnday at 7:05 PM. Chris Elmore (3-0) starts for Trenton against the Ravens` Steve Stemle (5-8).
