MIKKELSON LEADS CAMDEN TO 4-1 VICTORY CAMDEN, NJ Camden starter Lincoln Mikkelson went an impressive 8 2/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits while walking three and striking out four to lead Camden past Lehigh Valley 4-1. The win allows the Sharks to claim the series two games to one and take back-to-back home games. The last time the Riversharks won back-to-back home games was the series against the Atlantic City Surf (8/17 & 8/18)

In his last three starts, Mikkelson has allowed only one run in over 23 innings of work. He posted a 2-0 record in that stretch, taking a no decision in the second start. With tonight`s win, he improved his record to 3-4 for the season with the Sharks, while Kyle Sheldon took the loss for Lehigh Valley to drop to 5-3 for the season. Both teams could manage only seven hits apiece leaving a combined 14 base runners on base. The Sharks, however, came out on top getting timely hits throughout the game. Centerfielder Dwight Maness led the way for the Sharks going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs. Catcher Guillermo Garcia assisted Maness with his 15th home run of the season, a shot over the left field wall off of Sheldon in the bottom of the eighth inning. Garcia finished the night going 1-for-3, scoring one run and knocking in one. With this solo home run, he upped his team-high runs batted in total to 53. Also, shortstop Jesus Azuaje extended his hitting streak to nine games after going 1-for-2 with one run batted in on the night.

Tomorrow night the Riversharks begin a three-game series with Expressway rivals Atlantic City Surf at Campbell`s Field with a 6:35p.m. start time. The Sharks will send big right-hander Mike Busby (6-9, 5.69) to the mound to shut down the Surf and help the Sharks make a climb towards first-place Somerset Patriots. The first 2,000 fans to enter the gates will receive a set of 2001 inaugural season Riversharks baseball cards. These cards will definitely be a collector`s item. Gates will open at 5:30p.m.
