Hamilton Mail Delivered Next Week TRENTON, NJ: — Ten truckloads of mail that was locked inside the Trenton-area processing plant after anthrax was discovered there last month has been irradiated and will be delivered next week. The Hamilton postal facility, which processed contaminated letters sent to Washington and New York, has been closed since Oct. 18, with mail diverted elsewhere.

Postal officials said about 500,000 pieces of mail was taken to a Gloucester County company last week, where it was irradiated to kill any possible bacteria. The mail will be sorted tomorrow at a postal processing center in South River and should be delivered by Monday.

"We have followed all the recommended procedures ... (and we're) quite confident that that this mail is not contaminated," Vito Cetta, the postal service's district manager for Central New Jersey, said in as prepared statement.
