2 Crashes at AC Airport

2 Crashes at AC Airport Rescue workers were on the scene of two small plane crashes in Atlantic City Saturday afternoon at the same airport.

The first crash happened around 130pm just off of Albany Avenue, near Bader Field airport. Upon arrival, officials found a small plane partially submerged in the bay with three people sitting on top of the tail.

All the occupants got out safely and were not injured badly. The New Jersey State Police Marine Unit and the U.S. Coast Guard saved them. They were transported to Atlantic City Medical Center with minor injuries. Apparently, the plane was trying to land, and overshot the runway and instead landed in the bay about 100 feet from the banks of the bay. The actual cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The second crash happened Saturday around 4pm, at the opposite end of the runway from the first crash. The small plane attempted to land and came down on its belly. The three occupants aboard are okay.
