Weed Man Released from Jersey Jail Trenton, NJ April 5, 2002 — The man who wants to change his name to "N-J Weedman" is out of jail. Edward Forchion was sentenced to ten years in prison last year after he pleaded guilty to possessing 25 pounds of marijuana he planned to sell.

He's entered the state's Intensive Parole Supervision program. It offers nonviolent offenders education, counseling and treatment.

Forchion has made two unsuccessful runs for Congress. He also appeared at the Statehouse for an Assembly session in a striped prisoner's costume. State troopers arrested and escorted him from the chamber after he allegedly began smoking marijuana on the chamber floor.
