Casino Crash Kills One, Injures 5 A car crashed Thursday at the entrance of Harrah's Atlantic City, killing one person and injuring several others, officials said. The accident happened at 1:22 p.m. in the arrivals and departures area outside the casino, said Atlantic City police department spokesman Sgt. Michael Tullio.

Irene Ralston, 66, of Fort Lee apparently drove her Toyota Avalon into the building, authorities said. She was seen and discharged at Atlantic City Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Ralston had an unidentified 65-year-old passenger in the car, and police said it was not clear if the passenger was injured.

A 48-year-old woman, who also was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harrah's employees William Haag, 33, of Egg Harbor Township and Eric Bullock, 40, of Pleasantville were both hit by the car. The hospital said they were in serious condition.

Thomas Kelly, 54, of Wallington was hit while sitting on a bench. He was in fair condition at the hospital.

Police closed off both entrances near the hotel for nearly three hours as investigators examined the scene. Authorities would not comment on possible causes of the crash.
