Construction Begins in AC

Construction Begins in AC Cordish Co. is starting construction on a $60-million entertainment and shopping complex to attract such retailers as Tommy Hilfiger and Liz Claiborne to the city.

The Casino Redevelopment Authority owns the property and will contribute $31 million for construction of the plaza. The complex is expected to open in summer 2003.

Governor James E. McGreevey is expected to attend a formal groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday with Mayor Lorenzo Langford and Cordish Chairman David Cordish. McGreevey will also be in town to address the Mid-Atlantic Gaming Congress.
