Police Looking For SJ Carjacker A manhunt is now underway in South Jersey, with police on the lookout for a brazen carjacker.

Investigators in Gloucester County said the man pulled off two carjackings Sunday. One was in Woodbury, the other was about a mile away in West Deptford.

In both cases, the carjacker targeted women at shopping centers along Route 45, police said.

Police confirmed that a 50-year-old Woodbury Heights woman said she was approached about 1 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Acme on Route 45 in Woodbury.

The carjacker made the woman drive for a while, before telling her to leave the car after he took her credit cards, $50 from her purse and a ring.

West Deptford police said there was another carjacking at the parking lot of the ShopRite supermarket on Sunday.

A woman said a carjacker approached her and her young child, and threatened to pepper spray the child if she didn't surrender her ATM card.

The carjacker then kept the card after failing to find an uncrowded ATM where he could force the woman to make a withdrawal.

Police described the suspect as a heavy-set, black male, about 25 years old, with short hair. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt Sunday.

Police believe the crimes are related.
