Students Move to Other Schools The Camden Board of Education held a public meeting Saturday about a crumbling school building in Camden, N.J., that is now closed indefinitely.

Engineers said that Lanning Square School is on the verge of collapsing. Cracks were found in its concrete support foundations.

Saturday the board announced plans to move the 800 students and teachers to other schools. Here is what they decided:
Kindergarten through second grade will go to Broadway Elementary
Third through sixth-graders will go to Fetters Alternative High
Seventh and eighth-graders will go to Pyne Poynt Middle School

The students will stay with the same classes and they will have the same teachers to minimize the disruption to their schedules.

The changes will start on Tuesday Nov. 12.

The School Board will have another meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at U.S. Wiggins Elementary School in Camden to answer questions from parents and other interested parties.
