Italian Best Pizza

It`s well known that Italian Best Pizza, located in the Meadow Brook Shopping Center at 3018 Union Avenue in Pennsauken, makes great pizza. What you may not know is that they also make great chicken cheese steaks, pizza steaks, hoagies and more.

I stopped in the other day for lunch with my friend Linda, and we both got to sample why Italian Best lives up to its name.

Although it`s not a very big place, it certainly is cozy with its cute tables, mirrored walls and friendly staff.

Having been told by friends that we should try one of everything, we did just that - well, almost. Linda got the Cheese Steak ($4.35), I picked the Chicken Cheese Steak ($4.65), and we shared a small Cheese Pizza ($4.35). (So much for those girlish figures!)

Anyway, our food was absolutely fabulous, especially the chicken cheese steak. For all of their chicken sandwiches, the chefs use only the freshest cutlets, which they marinate in a secret blend of seasonings that makes for one outstanding taste. It`s no wonder that Italian Best is quickly gaining popularity for this sandwich - the word "delicious" simply does not do it justice. The cheese steak and pizza were likewise very tasty, and everything was gone in a flash.

Other items available at Italian Best Pizza include white and Sicilian pizza; baked calzones; strombolis, including the Italian Stromboli and Vegetarian Stromboli; chicken wings; hoagies; meatball, veal, chicken and sausage parmigiana sandwiches; hot sandwiches, including pepper and egg, roast beef, pork, chicken and flounder; club sandwiches; burgers; Italian specialties, such as Eggplant Parmigiana with Spaghetti; seafood, including Fried Shrimp in a Basket; a number of fresh salads; home-made soup du jour; and beverages.
