Man Stopped at AC Airport

by NBC10/AP | Dec 26, 2002
Man Stopped at AC Airport A Pennsylvania man arrested for taking a knife into Atlantic City International Airport apparently did not plan to use it, police said.

Thomas Broderick, 48, of Bensalem, Pa., was arrested at a security checkpoint Wednesday morning for possessing a steak knife with a 6-inch blade, authorities said.

He was charged with possessing a weapon in the airport, released on his own recognizance and told to return to municipal court in Egg Harbor Township next month.

Police Lt. Ted Kammer said the case was referred to state police and the FBI, but that it did not seem Broderick planned to hurt anyone.

This year, other passengers at the airport were arrested for carrying a stun gun and boxcutters.
