D`Angelo`s Pizzeria & Restaurant

D`Angelo`s Pizzeria & Restaurant in Cinnaminson is working very hard to bring a taste of Italy to South Jersey. And even though I`ve never actually been to the European country, I can say that after enjoying huge portions of wonderful Italian cuisine at the restaurant recently, they are doing a great job accomplishing their goal.

The newly remodeled dining room is spacious and comfortable and boasts beautifully painted murals, lots of greenery and large picture windows. My mom and I were seated next to a lovely seascape and enjoyed beautiful background music as we looked over the menu.

The restaurant offers traditional, baked and special pasta dinners, seafood, chicken and veal. Appetizers, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, wings and sides are also available. Plus daily lunch and dinner specials are featured. D`Angelo`s pizzeria makes Napoleon, Tomato and Vegetarian pies as well as stromboli, calzones and turnovers.

We started with a tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and olive oil salad ($5 for the small portion). Next, my mom had the escarole soup while I savored a cup of chicken and vegetable (our dinners came complete with soup or salad and homemade bread).

For an entree, my mom chose Chicken Caprese ($11). The thin and tender breast of chicken was sautéed with fresh garlic and basil in a white wine sauce and was topped with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Pasta was served on the side. I had Penne Al Vodka ($8.50). The overly generous portion of penne was sautŽed with bacon and vodka in a light cream sauce.

Everything we tried - from the salad to the cannoli we shared for dessert - truly exceeded our expectations. Our meals were made with quality ingredients and were extremely delicious. It`s obvious that a lot of care and dedication went into crafting each dish. We were equally impressed with the efficient service and pleasant atmosphere.

The dining room, which can accommodate up to 80 people, is also available for private parties. Plus, the restaurant has party trays and takeout. Early Bird Specials, offered Saturday through Thursday 3 to 5 p.m., start at just $4.99. There is no liquor license, but you are invited to bring your own spirits.
