Would you like to get a taste of a Philadelphia tradition without having to cross a bridge? For years, visitors to the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia who craved something other than a cheese steak have enjoyed the roast beef and roast pork sandwiches served at DiNic`s. That classic taste has finally arrived in South Jersey with the recent opening of the family-owned-and-operated DiNic`s at the corner of the Black Horse Pike and Kings Highway in Mt. Ephraim.

While the restaurant itself is quite small (limited counter seating and two outdoor tables), the food has a big taste that should keep patrons coming back for more. Plus, the friendly, speedy service makes it extremely easy for people stopping in for take out.

My husband and I recently had a quick, reasonably priced dinner at DiNic`s. I had a juicy (get the napkins ready) roast beef sandwich topped with sharp provolone cheese ($4.00). My husband had the "loaded" roast pork sandwich which was topped with sharp provolone cheese and their own roasted peppers ($4.50). Both sandwiches were spilling out of fresh baked rolls. They were delicious and filling.

While known for roast beef and roast pork sandwiches, DiNic`s also serves light breakfast items starting at 7 a.m. Enjoy fresh Ellis coffee ($ .60), doughnuts ($ .60), and bagels with butter or cream cheese ($ .95).

Stop by soon to make DiNic`s a tradition in South Jersey, too. They recently extended their Saturday night hours to 8 p.m. Plus, starting September 6, they`ll be open on Sundays from 1 to 8 p.m. Call 1-800-557-BEEF (2333) to order take out.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. Saturday: 7 a.m - 8 p.m.
