Alert Cancelled; Girl Found Safe A two-year-old is safe and her father is under arrest after a multistate dragnet that activated New Jersey's Amber Alert system.

Police tracking a carjacked Daewoo found it late Friday night in Knowlton Township, N.J. But Angel Rivera and his daughter Angela were not there.

Authorities staked out several locations, and finally spotted Rivera walking out of a house in Camden, N.J., Saturday morning.

Police arrested him and found his daughter safe inside.

Rivera is accused of abducting his daughter at gunpoint from her mother Friday from a motel in Saddle Brook, N.J.

Saddle Brook police said the girl, Angela Marcuz Rivera, was seized at about 9:30 a.m. Friday. The Amber Alert system was activated shortly before 10:30 a.m.

The AMBER Alert system is designed to quickly spread the word on a child abduction to law enforcement agencies and the news media, encouraging the public to call police if they see the people or vehicles being sought.

It involves broadcast alerts and activation of traffic sign boards on major highways with a description of the missing child and other pertinent information.
