Diocese Settles Sex Abuse Case

Diocese Settles Sex Abuse Case Camden's Roman Catholic Diocese has agreed to pay 23 plaintiffs $880,000 to settle allegations of sex abuse.

The men in a civil lawsuit alleged they were abused as boys by priests between the 1960s and 1980s.

Over the past year, they've had hearings to try to convince a state judge to waive the statute of limitations. No plaintiff has been successful.

Camden Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio says he's hopeful the "reconciliation" will speed the process of healing for those who have been harmed in any way.

The suit was working its way through the courts for eight years before sexual abuse by priests became a national crisis last year.
