Taxes To Go Up in Cherry HIll The Cherry Hill, N.J., Board of Education has adopted a new budget that would raise school taxes 7 percent.

Under the plan, schools will get $134 million next year. That is approximately a $10 million increase.

To offset the increase, property taxes would rise $287 for the average homeowner.

Opponents of the budget complain that all that money won't really help children and that class sizes will actually increase.

However, backers of the increase say that they have no choice -- state aid has been frozen while enrollment has increased.

Cherry Hill residents will vote on the school budget next month.
