Severe Weather Warning!

a few hail generating thunderstorms possible today... ...some snow northwest of the interstate 95 corridor sunday...
a slow moving frontal system will bring a variety of weather to the region beginning this afternoon. showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop from northwest to southeast this afternoon into early this evening...and a few of these thunderstorms could contain hail.
after the front passes...temperatures will begin to drop. meanwhile...low pressure is forecast to develop along the front near the carolina coast and move north northeast. the low is expected to pass close enough to the delaware and new jersey coasts to bring precipitation into the area. for areas mainly northwest of the interstate 95 corridor...the combination of the precipitation and the falling temperatures is expected to bring some snow.
present forecasts call for the possibility of two to four inches of snow over the southern poconos and far northwest new jersey...one to three inches of snow over the lehigh valley and the rest of new jersey near interstate 80...and up to an inch of snow for the northern and western suburbs of philadelphia and the area near interstate 78 in new jersey. for many of these locations...the bulk of the accumulation would occur mainly on grassy surfaces.
