Mulberry Street
The restaurant is really three places in one: an outside deck bar with terrace dining, an inside dining room and a sports bar. My wife Mary and I were seated in the inside dining room, which is situated between the deck and the sports bar. We thought it would be very noisy but they have done an excellent job of separating the three, and the contemporary styled dinning room was very quiet and relaxing.
We started our meal with a complimentary tomato salad and an outstanding green bean salad. For appetizers Mary had Grilled Copillo (grilled portabello mushrooms, eggplant, and sweet peppers served in a homemade vinaigrette sauce) at $4.95 while I had mussels in a marinara sauce ($6.95.) One note of caution - bring a big appetite because the portions are large and extremely delicious.
All entrees are served with a choice of either soup or salad. We both had salad with the house dressing - honey poppy seed. For our entrees, Mary chose Lobster Ravioli ($13.95) while I had one of the evening`s specials, Flounder Italiano ($11.95).
Mary`s ravioli was stuffed with lobster, topped with shrimp and served in a sumptuous blush sauce. My flounder filets were topped with fresh broccoli rabe, roasted peppers and Italian cheeses. Outstanding is the only word to describe this dish.
For dessert, we split Mulberry cheese cake ($3.95), a melt in your mouth treat that must be tried to be believed. Mulberry Street has a large menu featuring pasta, steak, veal, chicken, fish, sandwiches and homemade specialties.
