The next time you`re in the mood for a quiet, relaxing bite to eat, try Pasta Blitz by Lamberti, located in the Chestnut Hill Plaza on Route 130 North in Cinnaminson.

In stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the traffic outside on Route 130, Pasta Blitz provides patrons with a little bit of Old Italy. Checkered tablecloths and soft Italian music add to its authentic ambiance.

Pasta Blitz`s menu features 10 appetizers and salads, six Old World Specialties, 17 pasta dishes, seven chicken/veal dishes and seven fish dishes. There are also several hot and cold sandwiches as well as 12 kinds of pizza. Recently, my wife Mary and I stopped in for dinner, and we couldn`t have been more pleased.

At Manager Paul Rotonda`s suggestion, we tried Involtini Aurora ($5.95), one of the three special appetizers that were featured that night. The dish - a tomato and broccoli rabe involtini topped with a blush brandy sauce - was a melt-in-your-mouth delight that should be on everyone`s Must-Try list.

Paul not only serves as manager, he also prepares the dipping oil and herbs that accompany the complimentary bread basket. He also makes an Italian and a Balsamic Vingarette dressing for the salads that accompany each entree. We can attest that both were outstanding.

For an entree, Mary chose Veal Piccata - several medallions of veal with olive oil, white wine, lemon and mushrooms served over angel hair pasta. I chose one of the evening`s specials - Sogliole Positano ($15.95). This was a delightful stuffed flounder with lump jumbo crab meat and fresh tomatoes topped with a garlic white wine sauce. Both dishes were among the best that we have ever had.

A luncheon buffet is offered 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Banquet facilities and party trays are also available. Check out their website too!
