Prince Diner
My dining chum Linda and I stopped in for lunch on a recent Friday and were shown to our table by a smiling hostess, after which we were greeted by our equally friendly waitress.
Deciding what to eat wasn`t easy considering the large number of choices on the huge menu. It took awhile, but we finally decided on two of the 14 lunch specials of the day. I got the Fried Jumbo Shrimp ($6.95), which came with two vegetables and a soup or salad. Linda picked the Broiled Salmon ($6.95), also accompanied by two vegetables and a soup or salad.
While we waited for the meals, our waitress brought us some fresh Kaiser rolls and two crisp, fresh salads. In no time at all, these were devoured and our entrees were brought out. My three jumbo shrimp were huge and fried to a delicate golden-brown perfection. The excellent mashed potatoes accompanying the shrimp were quite real and covered with a homemade brown gravy.
Linda`s salmon filet was huge and, like the shrimp, delicious. She also raved about her side order of potato salad, which is also made fresh at the restaurant.
Dessert came with our lunch specials, so Linda had some delightful rice pudding while I made short work of a bowl of chocolate pudding. A cup of coffee ($.75) capped the meal nicely. Along with the lunch specials, there are 33 complete mini-meals, a kiddie`s menu, and just about everything else under the sun, including eggs and omelets; chicken, fish and beef dishes; salads; desserts; and much more.
For delicious food in a clean atmosphere at affordable prices, Prince Diner is a great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, 24 hours a day.
