Ralph`s Pizza
The room itself (named for both mothers of owners Ralph and Kathy Villano) is worth mentioning for its elegant decor. Beautiful art adorns one wall, while the other is lined with photos of the couple`s ancestors. Dried flowers in colorful vases further enhance the room`s cheery ambiance.
The dinner menu offers an array of salads, pasta, seafood, chicken and veal. I had the Cheese Ravioli ($7.50) and my mother had Eggplant Parmigiana ($8.50). All entrees are served with fresh bread and a choice of soup or salad. I had a house salad with Italian dressing, while my mother had Chicken Gumbo. The salad - a colorful display of lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, black olives, carrots and cheese was very good. The generous portion of ravioli, smothered in tomato sauce, was outstanding.
My mother said her chicken gumbo (consisting of rice, green and red bell peppers, onion and chunks of chicken) was rich and hardy. Her eggplant, layered with pasta and mixed with generous helpings of cheese and sauce, was simply delicious.
Ralph`s Pizza stills offers the same great pizza, cheese and chicken steaks, sandwiches and hoagies it has been serving for the past 13 years. (Customers can choose to either eat-in or take-out.) Although it does not have a liquor license, patrons are welcome to bring their own.
The restaurant, located at 520 Station Ave. between White Horse Pike and East Atlantic Avenue, is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m. Call 547-0030.
