Man Drowns in Pond

A man drowned in a drainage retaining pond in a close community of Corman Suite townhomes in Palmyra. It was around 4:15 Wednesday when a 9-year-old was playing in the area and looked into this pond and saw there was a man floating face down about 6 feet into the pond.

Police say the victim appears to be in his 80s. The child got the child's father, who waded into the water and pulled the victim to the shore and tried to revive the victim, to no avail. The police came and the victim died.

Police are looking at this drowning as purely accidental. The gentleman was elderly and either had a medical condition or a heart attack. Or because of the steep slope, he simply tripped and fell. They are investigating and think it's an accident.
