Cherry Hill Man Considered Fugitive

Wycliffe Edoo, 40, has not been charged in the December 2001 shooting of Kathrina Edoo, but authorities said they believe he played a role in it. He was freed on $100,000 bail last month after being indicted by a Camden County grand jury, but he failed to appear for a pre-arraignment interview on June 20.
The interview, part of the pre-trial process, is intended in part to determine whether a defendant needs a court-appointed attorney. It also provides lawyers with an opportunity to discuss potential plea bargains.
Kathrina Edoo was shot four times as she prepared to leave her Cherry Hill home for her nursing job around 7 a.m. on Dec. 18, 2001. Her sport utility vehicle was also stolen, but it was found some 13 hours later in South Philadelphia.
She suffered a broken jaw and other injuries in the attack and was taken to Cooper Hospital-University Medical Center in Camden, where she worked as a trauma nurse. She remained hospitalized for several days before being released.
Prosecutors say Edoo, who also was charged with stalking, criminal coercion and witness tampering, threatened to spread false rumors about his wife unless she lied to investigators. They said he also sent her threatening letters and left threatening telephone messages.
The couple was separated at the time of the shooting but were still living together. However, Wycliffe Edoo later moved to Philadelphia.
