Fatal Construction Accident in Camden One person is dead after a scaffolding collapse Tuesday morning in Camden. According to the Camden County Fire Department, the accident happened around 11:20 a.m. at Sixth Street and Penn Street, which is near the Rutgers University-Camden campus.

Authorities said two men were putting up glass panes on the new Camden County Community College building. It was the last day of work and the men were disassembling the scaffolding when it fell about 40 feet, or three stories.

One man died from a hit on the head. The second was injured and taken to a hospital.

A witness said the injured worker was hanging from the scaffolding and had to be rescued.

The men reportedly worked for King Glass and were subcontracted by Turner Construction, which is building the facility.
