SJ Schools: Rancocas Valley RHS The Red Devils of Rancocas Valley Regional High School (RV), located in Mount Holly, are starting off the 2003-2004 school year with excitement and dedication. The school provides quality education, sports and extra-curricular activities to 1,970 students in the Eastampton, Hainesport, Lumberton, Mount Holly, and Westampton areas.

Rancocas Valley’s mission is to promote life-long learning by developing students to their highest potential through a stimulating educational environment. Students are also encouraged to become active members of society and to become responsible members of their families and the community.

This year, Rancocas Valley is introducing the class ‘Dance Technique’ for its students interested in the dance discipline. Students may take this course as an elective, earning credits toward Performing Arts. The class will take place in their new state-of-the-art dance studio which includes thirty feet of mirrors, ballet barres, a sound system, an overhead projector, and a changing area.

Ms. April Wagner, a health and physical education teacher will head the class. Wagner is also the coach of the competitive dance team, which scored a win at the National Dance Alliance’s championship in Orlando, Florida in March. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of members like Ashley Regula and Ashley Blackwell, RV is proud of the hard work and talent of the dance team.

Continuing its dedication to life-long learning, Rancocas Valley will hold its annual College Career Fair on October 2nd from 7pm to 9pm. One hundred colleges and trade/technical schools will be in attendance. Juniors, seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend this informative evening.

RV students have an outstanding record in athletics. In addition to the challenging academic work, these students still managed to excel in their respective sports.

The RV Boys swim team enjoyed an exciting year in the winter of 2003, finishing with a 14-2 record and their 4th straight Burlington County League title. The team is ranked #2 in South Jersey and is in the top 10 in the state. Last years team led by JC Rowland, RT Greeby, Paul Waterhouse and Trey Hoffman consistently showed they were undefeatable. With rising stars such as Ryan Fish, Tom Dunn, Matt Baggaley and Andrew Morer, the team should have no problem rising to the occasion this upcoming season.

Rancocas also enjoyed an exciting season of Girl’s Softball as the team tore through Toms River North to advance to the Group 4 Championship Game. Starting pitcher Lisa Sweeney took charge as she led the Devils to a 3-0 win. Congratulations girls!
