Tornado Confirmed in SJ The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that a fourth F1 tornado hit the Delaware Valley on Tuesday in Florence, N.J. in Burlington County.

The NWS said the Florence tornado struck at 8:14 a.m. on Tuesday. Storm damage in Edgewater Park, another Burlington County town, was caused by straight-line winds, the service said.

The F1 tornado had maximum winds of 85 miles per hour and its path was 1.75 miles long.

The NWS estimates that about 100 trees were uprooted during this tornado. The eastern end of tornado track extends into Roebling, N.J.

The tornado was spotted at Toll Gate Apartment complex in Florence, N.J., the NWS said.

Damage estimates aren't complete yet, but officials in Burlington County put damage there at $2 million.

Overall, storm damage was reported in 16 communities on Tuesday, including three previous confirmed tornadoes in Narberth, Ewing and Flemington.
