SJ Schools: Clearview RHS

SJ Schools: Clearview RHS Clearview Regional High School boasts a superior curriculum and offers exceptional co-curricular and athletic activities for students to take an active role in bettering their health, their self-esteem and their community. Clearview students and faculty are constantly recognized for their achievements both in and out of the classroom.

Clearview Regional High School English teacher Diane Cummins was recently named 2003-04 State Teacher of the Year. Judges reviewed the applications of the 21 county teachers of the year and selected Cummins from a field of six finalists. Cummins will be honored in April 2004 at a ceremony in the Rose Garden at the White House and will speak at the ceremony on behalf of all of the teachers in New Jersey. Cummins will now be recognized as a role model for teachers in New Jersey as well as nationwide.

Congratulations to the newly elected German club officers at Clearview. Joe Hassell, John Stevenson, Eric Babye, Ana Troupe, Mark Weber and Paul Hinrichsen will enrich their curriculum through the study of foreign language as well as visit German attractions in South Jersey and Philadelphia and make their annual trip to Germany.

Congratulations to the 2003-2004 elected officers for the National Honors Society: Tom Fritz, President; Allison Lukacsky, Vice President; Kara Walton, Recording Secretary; Lindsay Carter, Treasurer; Gillian Young, Historian and Katie Thomas, Sr. Secretary. Members take part in activities such as Read Across America, the 5K Walk for the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation at Alcyon Park and the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life at Clearview Regional High School.

The Clearview Ice Hockey team is gearing up to beat their record last season. The team blew past the competition last season, scoring wins against Shawnee, Eastern, Cherokee, Rancocas Valley and Washington Township. Congratulations to the efforts of all-star players Chris Riggs, Bill Dunbar, Wyatt Fox, Dave Gooch, Mike Sull, Nick Vaccarino, Jon Probe and Brian Smith.

Good luck to the Clearview Men’s Basketball team who enjoyed an exciting win last year at a major tournament. The team scored a win at the Tri-County Conference Royal Division contest last March. The team took a 68-51 win over Cumberland High School. Top scorers included Pat Secula, Sean McQuade and Keith Heimrel.
