Swedish Apple Pie
Adele Krause - Deptford

1 cup + 1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
5 to 6 medium apples (Jonathan, Cortland, Golden Delicious, or combination)
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup flour
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Pinch of salt
Sprinkle of vanilla

Core, peel and slice apples. Fill a 9 or 10Ó pie pan 2/3 full with apples. Sprinkle one tablespoon sugar and one tablespoon cinnamon on top. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
