Criminal Homicide
New Jersey Statutes Annotated 2C:11-2: Criminal Homicide


A person is guilty of criminal homicide if:

  • He purposely, knowingly, recklessly or, with a motor vehicle causes the death of another human being.
  • Criminal homicide is murder, manslaughter or death by auto.


The sentence for criminal homicide depends on whether it is murder, manslaughter or death by auto.
