Dog Takes A Bullet For Owner A heroic dog has died in New Jersey after taking a bullet for its owner.

Millville authorities said a 29-year- city man was confronted by two men early Monday when he answered his door. One of the men then pulled out a shotgun.

As the homeowner dove to the floor to escape the gunman, authorities said the dog jumped between the pair and was shot one time before the two men fled. His owner was not injured.

Authorities said the shooting was drug related, but further details about the dog and the weapon used were not available.

The two men remained at large Wednesday morning.
